Diagnosis
Clinical examination, radiographs, ultrasound, MRI and, where indicated, electrophysiological studies (EMG). Investigations are completed on the same day wherever possible.

Biography
Dr. Utku Gürhan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2013 and completed his residency in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital and Ankara City Hospital, qualifying as a specialist in 2020. He is board certified by the Turkish Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (TOTEK).
He has practised at Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital since 2021 and has been a faculty member of the University of Kyrenia Faculty of Medicine since 2023. His clinical interests are hand surgery and microsurgery (replantation, nerve and tendon repair, flap reconstruction) and orthopaedic trauma.

Treatment
Treatmentapproach
A substantial proportion of patients presenting to an orthopaedic clinic are managed without surgery. The treatment plan is based on examination and imaging findings and is decided together with the patient.

Non-surgical treatment
In suitable patients, physiotherapy, splints and orthoses, intra-articular and soft-tissue injections (corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid, PRP) and activity modification are the first line.

Surgical treatment
Fracture surgery, hand and wrist surgery, microsurgery (replantation, vessel and nerve repair, tendon reconstruction, flap surgery), arthroscopy and joint replacement.
